Role Overview

The QA Lead owns quality strategy across backend services and frontend applications, aligns testing efforts with business risk, and is accountable for release confidence.

This role combines hands-on quality leadership, stakeholder collaboration, and team development, ensuring that testing scales with product complexity and delivery velocity.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain quality and test strategy across microservices and frontend applications
• Drive risk-based testing and participate in release sign-off in close collaboration with Product Managers and stakeholders
• Establish and enforce QA standards, test data management practices, and defect triage processes
• Own and evolve end-to-end and integration test automation strategy
• Build, mentor, and support the QA team, setting clear expectations and growth paths
• Enforce review and quality gates across development and release processes
• Track, analyze, and communicate quality KPIs, including test coverage, test flakiness, escaped defects, and release stability
• Partner with Engineering to continuously improve system testability and reliability

Required Skills and Experience

QA Leadership and Strategy

• Proven experience in QA leadership or QA management roles
• Strong stakeholder communication skills, including collaboration with Product, Engineering, and PMs
• Experience defining quality strategy aligned with business and delivery risk

Test Automation and Systems Understanding

• Strong experience running large-scale E2E and integration test automation
• Solid understanding of backend systems, including NestJS, APIs, and asynchronous workflows
• Familiarity with MongoDB, Redis, queues, and WebSocket-based systems

CI/CD and Release Quality

• Experience owning CI/CD quality gates and release confidence processes
• Ability to balance speed and quality through automation, metrics, and risk assessment

Security and Performance Awareness

• Awareness of security testing and common vulnerability patterns
• Familiarity with performance testing concepts and system behavior under load
